Mortar Photos
The following pictures were taken during a 're-enactment', a tactical recreation of squad-level actions during WWII. These events, along with living history events before the public, make up the schedule attended by our group. The mortar used is muzzle-loaded with plastic rounds charged with a black-powder substitute. In size, look, and range it is meant to mimic the 2" Airborne Mortar used by parachute forces during WWII, a short-range weapon used frequently to deploy smoke.
