WWII 60th Anniversary Displays The weekend of August 26th-28th Ft. Vancouver hosted the nation's largest celebration of the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. Tens of thousands of veterans and their families attended the festivities, which included concerts, reunions, living history encampments, fireworks, period vehicles, and talks by both Washington and Oregon's govenors. The event was hosted by the Dept of Defense, and the organization and hospitality were first-class in every respect. The unit participated along with around 50 other reenactors and living historians from the Northwest area. |
